Rupea Fortress
Situated on a basalt cliff, monument of nature, 30 km from Brașov towards Sighișoara, it dates back more than 2,000 years, being modified and improved over time.
The Rupea Fortress was built on the ruins of much older fortresses, dating back to Dacian times. It is easy to understand why: its high position, on the Cohalm hill, offers a view far over of the Târnavelor Plateau and turns it into a very strategic location.
